Anne Graham Lotz

Anne Graham Lotz was born and reared in Montreat, North Carolina, the second daughter of Billy and Ruth Graham. She is the mother of three children and three grandchildren.

From 1976-1988, Anne taught Bible Study Fellowship, a weekly Bible study class in Raleigh, NC of over 500 women. Her original class multiplied until today there are nine other classes of similar size in Raleigh.

In 1988, Anne established AnGeL Ministries, a non-profit corporation, which seeks to give out messages of Biblical exposition through her speaking, tapes and books. She has published 22 books and has two weekly radio programs. From 2000 - 2012, Anne held life-changing Just Give Me Jesus revivals in arenas in over thirty cities around the world.

Anne has broken many glass ceilings. She was the only woman to be a plenary speaker at the International Congress of Itinerant Evangelists in Amsterdam in 1983, 1986 and 2000 and at the School of Evangelism in Moscow in 1991. 

Edward Graham

Edward Graham, Chief Operating Officer for Samaritan’s Purse, is the youngest son of Franklin Graham. 

Edward graduated from the United States Military Academy where he went on to serve 16 years in the US Army. After multiple combat deployments within the Special Operations Community and working in various leadership and command positions, he felt called to return home and serve in the ministry starting in the winter of 2019. 

Edward has one daughter and three sons and has been married for more than 17 years to his wife, Kristy, who hails from a proud Army family. Edward and Kristy are raising their four children in the mountains of North Carolina, serving in the name of Jesus Christ.

Mark Agness, MD

Mark Agness is a husband, father, and physician. His medical background is in Family and Emergency Medicine having practiced since 1988. Mark stepped away from active practice in 2020 to pursue short-term medical missions. He has worked with a number of organizations both within and outside of SP. Mark is currently a technical advisor for SP having joined the DART team in 2019. Since then, Mark has served on a number of deployments in various roles beginning in Cremona, Italy in 2020. He served clinically and as a medical coordinator on various teams and deployments including in Sudan, Honduras, Lancaster, Ukraine (3), Turkey, Syria, and South Sudan (4).

Mark’s main focus currently is on supporting developing medical communities in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Mark has a love for teaching and participates as a trainer in DART orientations. Mentoring has become a particular passion for him in his recent years as he looks forward to having the opportunity to share his experiences and perspectives with younger colleagues.

Mark has been blessed to be married to Melisa since 1988. Melisa is a retired radiologist and mother to two remarkable sons (having the task of "raising" the three of them). Their eldest, Daniel is a professor at the University of Maryland in Economics studying developing economies. Their youngest, Luke is an engineer working with indigenous populations in Peru having organized a co-op of coffee producers in the Amazon drainage.

Melisa and Mark enjoy traveling and volunteering locally and regionally. They serve with their church and spend time with SP's North American Ministries when needs arise. Melisa and Mark live in an old gold rush town and love exploring beautiful, wacky California.

Mark’s faith and spiritual journey has been a marvelous meander since the age of 16. He was diagnosed with MS at the age of 50 and has seen God using and changing him in amazing ways since the diagnosis. Mark has a passion for sharing how the Lord uses our challenges to mold and focus our lives.

Ethan Helm, MD

Ethan and Elizabeth are medical missionaries passionate about sharing the Gospel and taking excellent care of patients. God saved Ethan as a child, grew his faith through Stage IV Hodgkins Lymphoma as a teenager, and called him to missions through a Kenyan mentor. Ethan lived near Chicago during his undergraduate studies and returned to his home state of Arkansas for medical school. Ethan completed his residency in Rochester, NY, where he trained in Pediatrics. After serving two years at Mbingo Baptist Hospital in Cameroon with World Medical Mission, they moved to Cambodia in December 2018. Ethan works as a pediatrician at Hebron Hospital; in addition to caring for patients, he enjoys teaching medical residents. He remains focused on preaching the Good News through medicine. Recently, Ethan started serving as Senior Vice Director and acting medical director of the hospital. His goal in this role is to be rigorously focused on the Gospel of Jesus Christ in Word and Deed. They are thankful for the children God has given them in the past decade of life on three continents. Josiah, Esther, Isaiah, and Ezekiel have enjoyed their own international journeys and continue to bring light and laughter to every day.

Tom Kendall, MD

Tom and Melissa Kendall and their six children are missionaries in Togo, West Africa. Tom grew up in Greenville, SC, in a Christian home as the son of a family medicine doctor and the oldest of 7 children. A family mission trip during his high school years exposed him to medical missions and sparked his desire to become a missionary surgeon. Tom received his medical degree from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in 2003. He then completed a general surgery residency in 2008, followed by a minimally-invasive surgery fellowship in 2009. After a 4-year service commitment to the USAF, including a combat deployment to Balad, Iraq, Tom left the military to enter full-time missions with ABWE in 2013. Their family began their first term in 2014. Tom currently serves as hospital administrator and formerly as chief of surgery at L'Hôpital Baptiste Biblique (HBB), ABWE’s mission hospital in southern Togo. Melissa, in addition to teaching their 4 children still at home, serves in the Guest House ministry and facilitates a weekly children's Bible club with the unreached Islamic community. The Kendalls are sent out by Grace Bible Church in Murrieta, California.
